Posh Shows are here! You might have heard about this new feature that Poshmark recently launched. Posh Shows are live selling events, where sellers can showcase their items and buyers can purchase them in real-time.
In this blog post, I discuss what Posh Shows are and my experiences with them. I’ll talk about how to participate in them as a buyer, how to host your own show, and what the pros and cons are.
What are Posh Shows?
Posh Shows are new real-time shopping events hosted on the Poshmark app and the Poshmark website. They are live-streaming events where buyers can purchase items directly from sellers while they are broadcasting. These events allow sellers to showcase their items and give buyers an opportunity to shop in a fun and interactive way. They can be based on a specific theme or category such as luxury handbags, vintage clothing, or shoes. These shows can last anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours. They often include items from several sellers, and sellers can choose to either auction or directly sell their items.
What is the difference between Posh Shows and Posh Parties?
Posh Parties are also events hosted on the Poshmark app but are not live-streamed. They are themed virtual shopping events that happen multiple times a day, and they are hosted by Poshmark or selected users. Posh Parties can be focused on different categories such as women’s clothing, men’s clothing, or accessories. These events last for two hours and allow any sellers to share their listings that fit the theme of the party.
Posh Shows, on the other hand, are live-streaming events that allow buyers to purchase items in real time while watching the sellers showcase their items. Unlike Posh Parties, which have a set time limit, Posh Shows don’t have a time limit, and they generally last anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours.
How to buy at Posh Shows?
Buying at a Posh Show is easy. Simply tune in to the live stream and watch as the seller showcases their items. You can find Posh Shows on the app under the “Feed” or “Shop” tabs, by scrolling down to “All Posh Shows.” The shows are easy to find on the website, too. Simply click the “All Posh Shows” tab. Here, you can see all the live Posh Shows.
You can purchase or bid on items. If you see something you like, click on the item to purchase it, or if an auction is on, simply click the “bid” button to make a bid. You can also use the “Custom Bid” button to change the bidding price.
You can also ask the seller live questions or comment on the items. All shows feature a live feed where your comments are posted. Here, you can also see the bidding activity.
It’s important to note that Posh Shows are live events, so items can sell out quickly. Make sure to act fast if you see something you like. If you love what the seller offers and end up buying multiple items, you will get free shipping on all the additional items you purchase. So bundling up might be worth it!
Note that you can also see upcoming Posh Shows under the “All Posh Shows” tab. This feature allows you to check out the seller’s closet in advance. You can tap the heart icon to “like” an item, and you’ll be notified when the item is auctioned. This way, you can prepare for the show and snag the items you love!
How to host a Posh Show?
At this point, Posh Shows are still in the beta-testing phase, which means that hosting one is only available to select sellers. Poshmark Ambassador I and II sellers are given priority. There’s a waitlist, which you can sign up for by clicking this link. But first, you need to start your Poshmark closet, if you haven’t done so yet.
Once you’ve been granted access to sell at Poshmark Shows, go to your closet and click the icon on the right-hand corner. From there, click “My Posh Shows” and “Create”. This will take you to the “Posh Show Details” page, where you can select a cover shot for your show. You should also add the title of your show, along with the starting time and duration. Here, you can also add the listings that you want the live shoppers to be able to buy during your live show. You can select up to 50 listings. Then, click “schedule,” and you’re all set.
How to sell at a Posh Show?
Before your show, make sure to prepare your items and create a cohesive theme or category. You should also promote your show on your social media channels to drive traffic to the event. Doing this increases the chances of selling your items (and making money).
To start your Posh Show, go to your closet and find the “My Posh Shows” tab. Click the “Enter Show” button.
During the show, be engaging and interact with your audience. Showcase your items and answer any questions that viewers may have. You can choose a listing to feature at any time. It’s also important to price your items competitively and offer good deals to incentivize buyers. The auction tool – and starting your auctions at a relatively low price – is a good way to do this. To auction your item, simply select an item from your “Featured Listings” and click the “auction item” button.
What are silent Posh Shows?
Silent Posh Shows are a new type of Posh Show that allows buyers to purchase items without the live stream. These events are similar to traditional Posh Shows, but the seller does not live stream. Instead, buyers can shop the seller’s listings during a specific time period. This allows buyers who may have missed the live stream to still shop the seller’s items.
Using tags
Tags are a crucial part of selling on Poshmark, and they are especially important when participating in Posh Shows. Make sure to use relevant tags when listing your items and when promoting your Posh Show. This will help buyers find your items and increase your chances of making sales. As a buyer, the tags help you find the shows you’re interested in.
Are Posh Shows worth it?
Posh Shows can be a great way to drive sales and connect with buyers. They allow sellers to showcase their items in a fun and interactive way and give buyers a unique shopping experience. However, participating in Poshmark Shows does require some effort and preparation, so it’s important to weigh the benefits against the costs.
If you’re a seller, auctioning your items with a low starting price can be risky, if you’re unable to attract a large number of live viewers. The risk is that you might end up selling your item for less than you’d like. For buyers, auctions can be a great opportunity to score bargains, though! And they also provide a nice adrenaline rush, when you’re able to find something you really like at a fraction of the original cost! That said, please note that all bids are binding, and if you win an item, you’re required to purchase it.
In conclusion, Posh shows are a fun, new feature. You should try them out to see if they are for you!
